Wolbachia segregation dynamics and levels of cytoplasmic incompatibility in Drosophila sechellia

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on cytoplasmic incompatibility induction in Drosophila sechellia by Wolbachia variants wSh and wSn. The authors have identified the cytoplasmic incompatibility intensities of wSh and wSn in D. sechellia, and they report that the results have not suggested a consistent role of the host species in the cytoplasmic incompatibility induced by wSh.

Superinfection of Leodelphax striatellus with Wolbachia from Drosophila simulans

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on alpha-proteobacteria Wolbachia which infects arthropods. The hypothesis that Wolbachia infecting Drosophila simulans can be transferred into Leodelphax striatellus's Wolbachia-infected strain has been tested via the use of nested PCR and microinjection, and the results are described.

Wolbachia distribution and cytoplasmic incompatibility based on a survey of 42 spider mite species (Acari: Tetranychidae) in Japan

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on Wolbachia distribution in the spider mites in Japan. The role of Wolbachia in reproductive traits of these mites and the phylogenetic relationships of Wolbachia strains have been investigated and discussed.
