A proclivity for entrepreneurship: a comparison of entrepreneurs, small business owners, and corporate managers

Article Abstract:

The influence of preference for innovation, propensity to take risks and achievement motivation on the tendency for entrepreneurship among small business owners, corporate managers and entrepreneurs is investigated through a survey of 767 participants. Participants who were identified as entrepreneurs achieved higher scores in the different variables under consideration compared to both small business owners and corporate managers.

Culture and entrepreneurial potential: a nine country study of locus of control and innovativeness

Article Abstract:

Research is presented concerning the personal characteristics which are vital in the motivation of entrepreneurs. The importance of innovative activity and an internal locus of control are discussed.

Differences between women and men MBA entrepreneurs: exploring family flexibility and wealth creation as career motivators

Family flexibility was most important to married women entrepreneurs with children while wealth creation was most important to male entrepreneurs in this study of career motivation.
