The share prices of Washington H. Soul Pattinson and Company Ltd. are now on the rise again because of its Indonesian coal operations and venture into telecommunications. In November 1996, shares hit $63 but fell to a low of $23 by October 1998. Stock has been as high as $38 since then. NBN, Soul's TV station, has Australia's highest audience share at 70%. NBN is valued at $150 million. International coal markets have improved, and the Adaro coal mine in Indonesia is now selling as much coal as it can produce: 13-14 million tons a year.

Euro titillator poised to peddle wares Down Under
Article Abstract:
Sharon Austen Ltd., the Australian arm of Germany's erotica retailer Beate Uhse AG, will develop an English language version of Beate's Web site to sell products and offer shares to investors. Beate Uhse has 50 erotica shops and 86 franchised stores. In May 1999, Beate Uhse issued shares at euro 7.2. Sharon Austen Ltd. is currently raising seed money for the float and is expected to list in March 2000.
