Clinton vetoes Interior spending bill

Article Abstract:

A $12.2 billion Interior Dept appropriations bill for FY 1996, was vetoed by Pres Clinton on Dec 18, 1995. The president had originally asked for $1.6 billion more than Congress had allotted, and he felt the funding was inadequate. He listed six other points points of disagreement with the bill.

Pres Clinton revealed his economic plan to a joint session of Congress Feb 17, 1993. The plan calls for a combination of tax increases and spending cuts that total $493 billion. Under the plan, taxes would increase for corporations and the wealthy.
