Credit Lyonnais will receive a bailout worth an estimated $10 billion from the French government because of its financial problems. The bailout also calls for its losing holdings and assets to be spun off into another company, and funds that are raised will pay back the government.

The Japanese government April 13, 1993, revealed an economic stimulus plan that contained a one-time package designed to stimulate the country's sluggish economy. The $117 billion package would be the largest one-time government spending plan ever.
