New venture growth and personal networks
Article Abstract:
Owner-managed firms in the UK are surveyed to determine the relationship between new venture growth and the networking activities of entrepreneurs. Results show that high growth firms are managed by entrepreneurs that pursue contacts with new investors. Employment growth is influenced by contact with customers, suppliers and investors while profitability is dependent on the amount reinvested in the firm.

A management team to lure investors
Article Abstract:
Management buy-outs and buy-ins are increasing due to the rising frequency of corporate restructuring and consolidation. Buy-outs usually take the form of acquisition of a company by its management, whereas buy-ins originate from outside a company. Both processes can draw investors provided that objectives are clear and that value can be delivered promptly.
