Executive stock options, missed earnings targets, and earnings management
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to examine whether stock option grants explain missed earnings targets. Annual and quarterly data for fixed date options given after firms announce their missed earnings targets were used in the study. Findings show that firms that miss earnings targets have larger and more valuable subsequent grants.

The effects of cross-listing of foreign firms in the United States stock exchanges on their earnings are presented. The difference between profits of initial public offering and non initial public offering foreign firms are also discussed.
