EDG Entertainment has enjoyed dramatic success with three bar concepts, all featuring interactive entertainment for patrons. Barcode features high tech decor and a variety of computer games. Score Bar offers televised sports on super screens and linked games for multiple players. Galactic Circus is based on carnival prize games. Turnover is expected to reach A$20 million in 1998.

Former Jewel Food Stores owner Jim Fleming is pursuing a lucrative thoroughbred horse breeding business after selling his company for $A135 million. Tyreel Stud, his ranch, has produced more than 40 stakes winners with a combined total of $A13 million in winnings. Fleming has bred horses before, and was chairman of Australia's Sydney Turf Club from 1983 to 1991.

Ric Birch will manage the opening and closing ceremonies of the Summer Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia. He worked on the Los Angeles, CA, Summer Olympics and the Barcelona, Spain, Summer Olympics. Birch claims it is difficult to orchestrate these ceremonies because they must reflect the culture of the host city as well as have meaning for the entire world.
