HIV-tainted blood settlement reached

Article Abstract:

Five drug companies and the Japanese government reached a settlement on Mar 14, 1996, with hemophiliacs who became infected with HIV virus through tainted blood-clotting products. The government apologized for failing to heat-treat the US-supplied blood. Details of the settlement are given.

CIA says Ames tainted U.S.S.R. data

Article Abstract:

Three former CIA directors denied that they were responsible for passing information that had been tainted by double spy Ames to government officials. Aldrich allegedly caused the deaths of at least 10 US agents since 1985 by providing tainted information about the Soviet Union.

Three deaths tied to tainted hamburgers

Article Abstract:

E. coli-tainted hamburgers sold primarily from Seattle, WA-area Jack in the Box restaurants resulted in the deaths of several children. Three children had died and several hundred people were sickened by the hamburgers by Feb 20, 1993.
