IMF revises '95, '96 growth forecasts

Article Abstract:

The IMF's semiannual 'World Economic Outlook' report was issued on Oct 4, 1995. The report predicted world economic growth for 1995 would be 3.7%, a slight downward revision from the previous report. It predicted that 1996 growth would hit 4.1%, with Asia recording the highest growth rates.

The International Monetary Fund and the World Bank met in Washington, DC, on Sep 28-30, 1993, to discuss international economic growth. The plans included ending the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade negotiations and promoting international trade.

The IMF and the World Bank met on Sept 22-24, 1992, to discuss the currency crisis in Europe and international economic conditions. Some IMF representatives stated that the US' economic policy was hurting other countries.
