Israel, PLO agree to revive stalled peace effort

Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) have promised to revive peace negotiations over the pullout of Israeli troops from the West Bank and the ending of anti-Israel terrorist activities, respectively. Previous talks were derailed after 21 Israelis were killed by the PLO on Jan. 22, 1995.

Israel, PLO vow to continue talks on expanded self-rule

Israel reiterated its committment to PLO self-rule negotiations on Mar 20, 1995. The announcement came one day after a sniper attack in Hebron, killed two Jewish settlers. The radical group Hamas is believed to be responsible. Other Middle East news is included.
