When exploration backfires: Unintended consequences of multilevel organizational search
Article Abstract:
A demonstration that multilevel organizations, increased exploration at lower level could backfire, reducing overall exploration and diminishing performance in environments that require broad search, is presented using an agent-based simulation model. The findings reveal that careful attention to information processing in multilevel organizations could shed light on whether, and when, decentralization encourages innovation.

The influence of performance, environment and size on the identifiability of firm strategy
Article Abstract:
Recent research has looked critically at whether higher performing concerns focus on identifiable generic or industry-specific strategies, rather than following an unidentifiable strategy. It was found that there are complex connections between identifiability and performance. Doubt was expressed about the link between strategic identifiability and performance co-variations and economic or product market factors.
