Murdoch bows to reason

Rupert Murdoch's global News Corporation announced in January 2001 that it would be cutting back its internet activities, and laying off staff at its digital media divisions in the United States. Murdoch announced in late 2000 that he lacked confidence in internet models that are based on advertising revenue.
