Participation in strategic decision making: the role of organizational predisposition and issue interpretation

Article Abstract:

Factors related to organizational predisposition, such as rule orientation and previous financial performance, tend to influence the extent to which stakeholder groups participate in strategic decision making. Data obtained from executives in 52 organizations revealed the existence of a robust relationship between organization's rule orientation and the extent to which an entity employs human resources in strategic decision making. Such kind of relationship was also noted between previous performance and strategic decision making participation.
