Producer prices rose 0.5% in April

The index for manufactured and farmed finished goods prices rose 0.5% in Apr 1995 from Mar 1995, the greatest rise since Nov 1994. Finished goods prices rose 2.1% from Apr 1994, and the core producer price index, which omits food and energy prices, rose by 0.3% in Apr 1995.

An IMF report on the GDP of several nations revealed that rapid expansion had given China the third-largest economy in the world. China's GDP was estimated at $1.66 trillion, according to the purchasing-power parity method of calculating GDP.
