The Striking Price

Article Abstract:

Institutional investors appear to be very interested in the American Stock Exchange's new industry options. A survey of institutions by the Chicago Board of Trade found many were interested in futures on industry indexes. According to the survey, the most popular industries are oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, office equipment, and banks. The American Stock Exchange's low options, however, include only two indexes - an oil and gas index and a computer index. The survey found that institutions would rather invest in a specific stock group than in a broad- based stock group.
