Article Abstract:

Australia's Roc Oil Company Ltd. made a timely purchase of British oil and gas assets and is expected to list its stock at a premium price. In February 1999, Roc Oil bought the portfolio when oil was $10 a barrel. Roc listed on the Australian Stock Exchange on August 5, 1999, when the oil price was expected to rise to about $20 a barrel.
