Article Abstract:
Issues concerning Mexico's role in international free trade are examined, focusing on an analysis of its 10 free trade agreements since the early 1990s and its role in forming a Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA). Topics the similarities and differences between the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and other Mexican free trade agreements; the success of Mexico's free trade agreements; differences between Mercosur and NAFTA; and the need for the US and Brazil to resolve trade policy differences in order to create the FTAA.
