A new corporatism
Article Abstract:
The traditional political party alliances in Britain were between the Conservative Party and business, while the Labor Party was seen as allied with the public sector and labor unions. This has changed as Labor has set up alliances with big business. Cynics argue that task-forces are used by the government to obtain funds and political legitimacy from big business. Recommendations from business representatives have not always been acted on. Disillusionment could occur, and this is as likely as a move toward corporatism.
