AUSTRIA: BUILDING PERMIT FOR SPA PROJECT

The building permit has been granted for the planned Alpentherme spa in Payerbach, Austria. Tenders are to be invited at the beginning of December 1999. Subject to final approvals, construction of the Sch 770mn project is to start in spring 2000. The Alpentherme is said to become the biggest centre for holistic medicine in Europe. It will include a Thermal-Aquaparc and bungalows with 268 hotel apartments on an area of 9.7 hectares. It is expected to record 130,000 overnight stays per year.

GERMANY: SPA HOTEL PLANS BY ROBERT ROGNER

The Austrian entrepreneur Robert Rogner junior is planning a new spa hotel in Rheinsberg near Berlin. Public subsidies are to cover 35% of the costs of the Sch 490mn-560mn project. The hotel with 300 to 400 beds is to be managed by Mr Rogner.
