Anwar alleges government 'conspiracy' in his dismissal

Former Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim claims that a "government conspiracy at the highest level" resulted in his dismissal. Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad discharged Datuk Seri Anwar from the cabinet, who was also expelled from the country's ruling political party, the United Malays National Organization. Datuk Seri Anwar was allegedy involved in several financial and sexual misconduct cases and as such, must be removed from office.

Indonesia's Salim Group conglomerate pushes with its expansion plan by divesting its 51% PT Indofood Sukses Makmur stakes to Indocement's shareholders. Chief Executive Officer Anthony Salim approves the plan to envigorate investors interest over Indocement while expanding its food-product market with Singapore's QAF Limited. However, some investors see the strategy to benefit only the Salim Group in particular to the detriment of other minority shareholders.
