After the fuzzy wave reached Europe

Article Abstract:

Situations faced by the European fuzzy community before and after the fuzzy wave came to the continent are examined. Ample expertise in almost all subareas of fuzzy logic existed before the arrival of the fuzzy wave. Among the areas that played a significant role when the fuzzy wave did come were fuzzy controls and first generation fuzzy systems. Among the new trends observed in fuzzy set theory are fuzzy classification and diagnosis and the combination of fuzzy and other modern technologies, such as chaos theory, neural networks and genetic algorithms.

A discussion on extent analysis method and applications of fuzzy AHP

Article Abstract:

Application of the basic theory of triangular fuzzy number may be refined to overcome limitations of computer-generated calculations. This may be done by taking into consideration the closed interval linear function of the triangular fuzzy number's subordinate degree function. The method has been applied in petroleum prospecting in China. The potential of synthetically prospecting for possible oil drilling sites was evaluated in the batch of blocks discovered in the region.

Installation and experiences of field testing a fuzzy signal controller

Article Abstract:

The results of installing a fuzzy signal controller (FSC) at a real intersection are described. In addition to the advantages of low installation and maintenance costs, the finding proves that the FSC can demonstrate greater effectiveness than traditional control mechanisms.
