Airbus revamp hits snag in French demand for 50%

Article Abstract:

Aerospatiale S.A. of France has demanded 50% of any centralized version of Airbus Industrie, bringing negotiations between the four Airbus partners to a standstill. Aerospatiale was concerned that it would tend to be outvoted on the new Airbus company board if Airbus partners Dasa and British Aerospace PLC merge their defense interests. A Dasa spokesman said that Aerospatiale was offered 50% of voting rights in the new Airbus company, but said that Aerospatiale insisted on 50% of actual shares.
