Cordiant aims to increase acquisition of agencies

Cordiant Communications Group PLC announced that it is planning to increase its purchase of rapidly-expanding marketing and specialist agencies. The move is intended to improve Cordiant's operating margins in the year 2000 to 11%. In 1999, the company posted 10% in operating margins. Cordiant posted a 30% improvement in operating profits for the first-half of 1999. Operating profits reached 10.7 million pound sterling (16 million euros).

Science-fiction writer wins fantasy 9-book deal
