Alliance and Leicester secures funding despite write-down

Article Abstract:

Annual 2007 operating profit for UK mortgage firm Alliance and Leicester PLC will be lower from 2006 due primarily to a write-down connected to the current credit crisis. The write-down totals 185 mil pounds sterling, over three times the initial 55 mil pounds sterling predicted in November 2007. However, the firm announced it has obtained sufficient funding to cover 2008.
