An apocalyptic view of a cancer conspiracy
Article Abstract:
A recent lecture by Edith Efron, author if the book The Apocalyptics: Cancer and the Big Lie, stated that the environmental scientists and government regulators (the 'Apocalyptics' of the title) who claim industrialization will cause the downfall of Western civilization through the 'catastrophic destruction of life' categorize cancer as a moral and political disease wrought by humankind's evil inner nature. The public mood appears to be swinging away from a distrust of science toward looking for irrefutable scientific evidence of the damages inflicted by industrialization on the general populous. Examples are provided of instances where studies of dubious methodologies and conclusions influenced official bodies in their decisions.

Novel protection
Article Abstract:
Cytokines, which are also known as colony stimulating factors (CSFs), are chemicals produced by genetic engineering that promote the natural production of blood cells. Doctors can use CSF drugs to stimulate the production of white blood cells in patients for people suffering form rare diseases which reduce the production of white blood cells from the bone marrow, and for persons undergoing various forms of cancer treatment which destroy white blood cells. When CSFs are given at the same time as anti-cancer treatments, the CSFs produce a quick replacement of lost white blood cells. CSFs are being used in bone marrow transplants to promote quicker regeneration of the marrow and to prevent infections.
