Bionix

Article Abstract:

The Bionix from Singapore Technologies Kinetics was developed to answer the US Army's needs for a new Interim Armored Vehicle for its new Brigade Combat Team. The Bionix has a two-man turret armed with a 25mm cannon and a co-axial 7.62mm machine gun but the US Army version is equipped with a 12.7mm M2 machine gun. The Bionix can be transported from a C-130 Hercules with its passive armor removed. It weighs 17 tons without the armor but increases to 24 tons with the armor.

BMD-3

Article Abstract:

The BMD-3 airborne combat vehicle from Volgograd Tractor Plant is built for a crew of seven. Three people, including the driver, occupy the front part of the vehicle; two in the turret; and two in the troop compartment to the immediate rear of the turret. The BMD-3 is fully-amphibious and is propelled through water by two water jets mounted at the rear of the hull. Standard equipment include NBC protection and night vision equipment.
