TANGERINE FACES WINDING-UP NOTICE

Tangerine Informatique Ltd (TIL), an ailing computer distributor and retailer, is facing winding-up proceedings due to defaulting on debt obligations to creditors. Tata Finance Ltd is believed to have filed a winding up petition against TIL in the Bombay High Court for non-payment of debts valued at Rs4.64 crore. TIL also has overdue positions with a few other banks and financial companies and the total overdue amount is likely to exceed Rs20 crore. (khr)

SAIL MAY HIVE OFF IISCO MINES INTO JVs

Article Abstract:

The Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) may spin off the iron ore mines of its subsidiary, Indian Iron & Steel Company (Iisco), into new joint ventures. Now, Iisco has iron mines in Chiria, Gua, Meghahataburo and Kiriburo. These mines produce ores having an iron content of more than 63 percent. SAIL may spin off the Chiria or the Gua mines. Iisco also plans to export iron ore fines. Now, it has large stocks of iron ore. (ag)
