Coke sole sponsor of Potter flick

Coca-Cola Co, based in Atlanta, GA, has signed an agreement with Warner Bros as the studio's sole promotional partner for the film 'Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone,' which will open on Nov 16, 2001. The partnership, which is reportedly worth $150 million, will focus on connecting with consumers. Unlike other sponsorships connected to movies, Coca-Cola will depart from the usual giveaway promotion and instead develop regional reading initiatives tied to the movie.

TimeLine Media Corp of Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, has launched the first interactive outdoor markeing in fuel pumps in Canada with the introduction of Internet-based, audio-screens installed in self-serve fuel pumps. The screens consist of 15-inch high-visibility, high-intensity, full-sound monitors, which run standard 15-, 30- or 60-second commercials. TimeLine charges a rate of 3.5 to 5 cents per estimated prospect of customer at the station.

'Focus' motivated P&G/Coke union

Article Abstract:

The Coca-Cola Company of Atlanta and the Procter and Gamble Co (P&G) have entered a joint venture agreement to establish a new beverage and snack- food company. The partnership aims at globally developing and marketing juices, juice-based beverages and snacks. About 40 brands are involved, including Coca-Cola's Minute Maid, Five-Alive and Fruitopia and P&G's Pringles, Sunny Delight and Punica beverages.
