Colgate and Young and Rubicam seek creative excellence

Colgate-Palmolive is setting up centers of excellence in Europe with Young and Rubicam to consolidate marketing and advertising and reduce replication in different countries. Young and Rubicam's offices in larger European countries are taking over responsibility for creative and strategic tasks from smaller, neighbouring countries. Switzerland and Austria will be handled by Germany, and Portugal will be handled by Spain, according to sources linked to Colgate.

L'Oreal launches hair care line with fruit acids

L'Oreal's Laboratoires Garnier is planning to introduce a new line of hair care products, which contain fruit acids. The shampoo Fructis contains Alpha Hydroxy Acid, which is claimed to reduce wrinkling by encouraging exfoliation. Fructis is also claimed to give hair brilliance, volume and strength. The line includes three conditioners, five shampoos, and a hair-strengthening treatment.

Unilever repositions Timotei in global rollout

Unilever is to relaunch its Timotei shampoo brand in France in March, followed by the remainder of Europe and globally. Timotei is a top shampoo brand with 5% of the European market and its new formula incorporates herbal milk said to bring extra protein and lipids to the hair. The new range will include after shampoo treatments and two-in-one shampoo/conditioners.
