Fading attraction

Article Abstract:

Britain ranks fifth among world tourist destinations, but tourism grew more slowly than average world growth from 1980s to 1990, and numbers of tourists have been more or less static in the late 1990s. The government is funding a number of projects likely to attract tourists, such as the Millennium Dome, though the British Tourist Authority has a relatively small budget.
