Article Abstract:

Nicholas Grimshaw founded Nicholas Grimshaw & Partners, architects, in 1980. He is now dividing responsibilities amongst his co-directors David Harriss, Chris Nash, Neven Sidor and Andrew Whalley. Obituary: David Allford

Article Abstract:

David Allford joined Yorke Rosenberg and Mardall, architects in 1952, and some early projects included several comprehensive schools. Other projects included Gatwick airport which earned Allford his partnership in 1958. YRM survived the 1970s recession through overseas work, and by the mid 1980s the firm had strengthened its reputation, and at the end of the decade, Allford retired, a few years after flotation, and five years after being appointed a CBE.
