DENMARK: WITTENBORG ACQUIRED BY BRITISH COMPANY

Article Abstract:

The British investment company Compass Partners has acquired the Danish vending machine producer Wittenborg from Incentive. In 1999, Compass Partners acquired Wittenborg's competitor Zanussi Vending. The two companies are about the same size, but the price of Wittenborg was only half as much as the price of Zanussi Vending. The reason behind this is that Wittenborg was unprofitable in 1999, especially in the last quarter of the year.
