Denmark:Mobile telephony rates forecast to fall further

Article Abstract:

The falling mobile telephony rates will make it more difficult for UMTS license winners in Denmark to win clients to their UMTS networks, predicts MD Michael Moesgaard Andersen of Andersen Management International. The new UMTS companies will have to win new clients from their rivals. According to telecoms analyst John Strand of Strand Consult, UMTS companies aim to win between 50-80% of their earnings from calls and only 20-50% will be generated from the new services. The Danish mobile telephony company for young people, Club Blah Blah, cut its mobile telephony rate to DKr1.10/minute, which is the cheapest rate in Denmark. The company's MD Henrik Friis anticipates further price cuts in the near future.
