Eurosan seeks to add TBM defense to SAMP/T

Article Abstract:

Eurosam, which has a contract to develop the Famille Sol-Air Futur (FSAF) family of surface-to-air missile systems, is negotiating with the Franco-Italian FSAF program office to expand its contract. The contract extension, which is slated to be released by end of 1998, will serve as an ad-on to the current contract for FSAF that Eurosam is working on. The so called Phase 2 FSAF contract, which was awarded in 1997, includes industrialization and initial production of one SAMP/T system each for France and Italy. The contract extension, on the other hand, will include upgrade on the two initial system with a Theater Ballistic Missile Defense (TBMD) capability so that they will be delivered on time.

Ex-Canadian ADATS systems for Greece

Article Abstract:

Canada and Greece are nearing the inking of a bilateral agreement, worth $500 million to $600 million, for Canada's provision of 36 Oerlikon Aerospace ADATS Mk 2 anti-tank and air defense missile systems. The proposed inter-government agreement between Canada and Greece is also inclusive of eight to 12 ADATS systems, which will be immediately moved from the inventory of the Canadian Armed Forces. Greece was reportedly particularly interested in the ADATS system due to the equipment's anti-surface and anti-air capabilities.

Romanian company joins Euromissile on anti-tank weapon

Article Abstract:

Arsenalul Armatei of Romania and Euromissile, a Franco-German missile manufacturer, have collaborated to develop the Maliutka M2T anti-tank missile. The M2T is an upgraded version of the Russian-made Maliutka and has been fitted with the 3.5 kg tandem warhead, which enables it to penetrate at least 850 mm-thick homogeneous armor. At a later stage of the development program, the missile's tracker flare will be replaced by a beacon lamp to improve its counter-countermeasure capability.
