Baron International Ltd (BIL) and Akai have terminated their marketing agreement. Baron International had entered into a marketing tie-up with Akai to market its products in India. BIL will however continue to provide after sales service to customers having Akai television sets. Akai is likely to enter into a marketing deal with Videocon. (um)(vr)

RUPEE CLOSES STRONGER
Article Abstract:
The rupee closed stronger at 42.4275 against the dollar as banks offloaded dollars in the foreign exchange market on February 19, 1999. Banks will have to initiate short dollar positions on February 22, 1999 in view of the bank unions deciding to go on strike for two days on February 25 and 26, 1999. (khr)
