FRANCE: LECLERC DANJOUTIN DOUBLES SALES SPACE

In France, the CDEC of the Belfort area has given its approval to Leclerc to double its Danjoutin hypermarket, which is to be increased from 3,500 square metres of sales space at present to 7,500 square metres of sales space for a cost of FFr 80mn. Leclerc is to finance the construction of a 815-space parking lot, which it will share with the future Quai multiplex.

Intermarche (ITM) is building a new 16,000 square metre dispatching hub in the Petits Vernats intercommunal area. It is to be operational in September 2000. This new hub will handle fresh and refrigerated supplies for a hundred supermarkets located in the Auvergne, Limousin, and Centre regions.
