Fish skin leather for top designers

Atlantic Leather in Iceland has been developing a market for fish skin leather by selling to top fashion designers in Paris. Leather made from fish skin is one of the strongest there is in relation to its thickness, and can be used as any other leather. Prada and Dior have used it to made handbags and Pelicano for jackets.

Flaws in research models

Kristinn Petursson, a north coast fish processor and former Iceland MP has asked for some clarifications from Iceland's Marine Research Institute on the mathematical models used to calculate over-assessments in previous years. The problems faced due to the errors in calculating overfishing have also been discussed.

Knives sharper with steel sheath

Article Abstract:

An Icelandic fisherman and inventor Einar Valur Gudmundsson has developed a sheath for knife sharpening steels. The sheaths protect the tools from rusting and improve the life by five times longer.
