France: Amora Maille export sales rise

Amora Maille, the French leader on the sauces and condiments market, rose 66 notches in the ranking of French international leaders, reaching 784th place out of the 2,505 companies listed. The company is present in 70 countries, and makes an export turnover of EUR 75.77mn, representing 20% of its total turnover of EUR 380mn. The brand offers thirty products in export (mustard, mayonnaise, sauces, vinegar, oil, and spices), in 200 to 300 items, most of which are adapted to the taste of different countries. Each new launch is tested by consumers. Amora Maille products are sold in supermarkets and hypermarkets, fine groceries, restaurants, and duty-free stores.

Tunisia: A look at SCAPCB

In 2000, the Societe de Conserves Alimentaires de Producteurs du Cap Bon (SCAPCB), which makes harissa and tomato concentrate, posted a turnover of TD 12mn, of which 59% came from exports. SCAPCB is the Tunisian leader for Harissa, and it tops the list for tomato concentrate with a tomato processing capacity of 1,200 tonnes of per day. In the future, it plans to invest in new technologies, moving its packaging operations to Europe and to either find foreign investors or carry out tomato marketing operations.
