Global outdoor giant lands at Pearson

Article Abstract:

More Group Canada Inc., now part of the world's largest outdoor company, has won the contract for out-of-home advertising in Terminals 1 and 2 at Lester B. Pearson Int'l Airport in Toronto. Terminal 3 is held by competitor Urban Outdoor TransAd. More plans to solicit new business from the private sector, but will probably do best winning business from municipal contracts that are due to expire. More was purchased by San Antonio, Texas,-based Clear Channel Communications last summer.

Marketers offered pre-fab TV spots

Article Abstract:

Montreal advertising agency Michael Mills Productions Ltd offers nearly complete TV spots that will enable local retailers to have television advertising without its high production costs. The firm's president Michael Mills, calls the ads Thumbnail Spots. The spots are either 15- or 30 seconds, and are appropriate for local enterprises such as florists and dry cleaners. Most are animated and are presented with original music, sound effects and suggested scripts.

New ad techniques planned for TTC

Article Abstract:

Transportation Displays Inc (TDI) has won a C$75-million, five-year contract from the Toronto Transit Commission to manage the advertising space in Toronto's buses and subways. TDI president and COO Don Allman said he plans to bring 'station domination' to Toronto's subways. 'Station domination' refers to an advertiser renting every space at a certain stop for 30 days.
