IA NET FLIES TO Rs18.2 Cr
Article Abstract:
Indian Airlines (IA) posts a higher net profit of Rs18.2 crore during the third quarter of 1998-99. IA has been able to post higher profits due to a rise in its passenger traffic during December 1998. During this month, it posted a profit of Rs22.25 crore (Rs20 lakh during October 1998). The third quarter profits have helped Indian Airlines to reduce its aggregate losses for the first nine months of 1998-99 to Rs16.55 crore. IA's profits for the third quarter were affected by the fog related problems over Delhi during December 1998 which otherwise would have been higher. (ag)(m)
