Article Abstract:

A study presents a simulation-optimization method of evaluating the flexibility value of manufacturing systems in a discounted cash flow concept. Mathematical programming models are used to determine net revenue distribution while simulation methods are used to formulate parameters of a given evaluation time. Results reveal an efficient simulation-optimization method of justifying investment decisions.
