It takes imagination
Article Abstract:
James McAdam, Nick Bell and Tanya Kalinina organised Project Imagination which was a week-long event where British architects worked with students at the Moscow Architectural Institute, Russia. McAdam and Bell studied at the Canterbury school and participated in exchange schemes with Russian students. Kalinina studied in Moscow and spent a year at Canterbury. They planned Project Imagination in order to help Russian architects come to terms with the changing conditions. They believe they were partially successful and intend to continue to facilitate contact between British and Russian architects.

Article Abstract:
Tom Markus, the chair of the Arcuk working group on education policy, believes architects should pay more attention to the social aspects of buildings. They should also be better prepared to work in multi-disciplinary teams and the learn from users of buildings. Arcuk is responsible for maintaining the standard of entrants to the profession and its education policy emphasises the breadth of experience required in architectural education as well as the need to achieve a minimum standard of work.
