Article Abstract:

The ex-Soviet republic of Georgia is struggling with enormous economic problems, as inflation is running at 1,500%, productivity has dropped 60% in the past two years, and the budget deficit in 1992 was about 30% of the GDP. It is also desperately short of energy.

Just-so-high stories: evolution

Article Abstract:

The last of the mammoths supposedly died out about 9,500 years ago, but a discovery on a Siberian island north of the Arctic Circle has uncovered a different breed of mammoth. The smaller, Wrangel mammoth may have survived until 3,000 years ago.
