Article Abstract:
Many areas are now using what are called habitat conservation plans, in which private landowners are compensated to put aside certain portions of their land so that endangered species using it as a habitat can survive. Some conservationists do not think these plans are sufficient.

Gun-related crime is a growing problem in China, despite tight gun-control laws. There is also a thriving black market in all types of guns. A huge rise in organised crime is the main factor behind the sharp growth in demand for firearms.
