Article Abstract:

The threat posed to the eminence of the Royal College of Art at Kensington Gore, and to the modern trend towards spatial environments, by the suggestion to erect a new unit for the college is discussed. The solution to explore the possibility of building extra storeys above one of the current one-storey wings, which will preserve the value of the Royal College building, and retain the open spaces, is suggested.
