Article Abstract:

The Lobb Partnership, an architect group, has been involved in a dispute with Aintree Racecourse. An arbitrator found that Aintree was deprived of revenue because the replacement stand designed by Lobb failed to have the standing capacity that Aintree wanted. Nevertheless a judge ruled partly in favor of Lobb in that it gave information instead of advice, limiting the amount of damages placed on the architect group.

The case Woolfson v. Gibbons is examined. The case involved structural damages that could have affected the value of a house had they been known earlier. The Woolfsons, who bought the house, received a judicial decision enabling them to get a lower price for the house as structural engineer Gibbons had not earlier detected possible structural problems.

The UK case "Picardi v. Cuniberti" is examined. Householders were losers in the case concerning adjudication of construction contracts. There was agreement among the parties that Consumer Contracts Regulations 1999 was pertinent to the case.
