Lockheed Martin wins Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile

Lockheed Martin Integrated Systems has landed the contract to develop the Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile (JASSM) stealth cruise missile for the US Air Force (USAF). The USAF's Aeronautical Systems Center awarded the company an initial $36 million to perform Phase II of program definition and risk reduction, with options for engineering and manufacturing development. The USAF intends to procure 2,400 rounds of the JASSM, which was designed to penetrate well defended high-value fixed and relocatable targets.

US moves to give helicopters low-cost punch with guided rocket
Article Abstract:
The US Army Aviation and Missile Command's Missile Research, Development and Engineering Center (MRDEC) has tendered bids for an advanced technology demonstration (ATD) of the Low Cost Precision Kill guided rocket. The prototype hardware under the ATD will feed data into the Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System program. MRDEC is expected to award either one or two contracts which would involve cost-sharing by selected companies.
