Politics is still a risky business for overseas investments
Article Abstract:
Companies that wish to do business overseas would do well to conduct a political-risk analysis of their own to ensure that they can cope when an economic crisis occurs. A country is surely headed for trouble when the public has an extreme love for their long-time dictator. Moreover, companies should watch out for the same people who wants to be involved in every deal. Also, companies need to be alert on unusual banker behavior.

The value of real options investments under abnormal uncertainty: the case of the Korean economic crisis
Article Abstract:
The theory that value of real options investments is highest during times of high uncertainty, such as the 1998 Korean economic crisis, is examined. Findings showed that this type of investment offers value under uncertain economic periods, and that value depends on the uncertainty level faced by a company. The need for companies to prepare for uncertain economic conditions is explained.
