Marx and Moolah
Article Abstract:
India's West Bengal state recently celebrated the communists 20th year in government, and predictable tributes to Marx were paid by the Ganashakti, the party mouthpiece. The Ganashakti had previously regarded multinational corporations with suspicion, but the abandonment of the Marxist government's anti-business stance, means that communism and cash go hand-in-hand. The paper's revenues have more than trebled over the last 10 years, and readers have not been put off by capitalist advertisements.
